Kenny Johnson, a licensed Professional Engineer, is the Director, Environmental Directorate, Air Force Civil Engineer Center, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas.  He oversees a broad spectrum of technical and operational services to support U.S. Air Force engineers and scientists worldwide, encompassing environmental compliance, restoration, natural/ cultural resource management, and technical reach back services.  The environmental team facilitates U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense missions by ensuring proper environmental planning, sound stewardship, and strict adherence to federal law.

Originally from Moreauville, La., Johnson brings over forty-one years of experience in various engineering and management roles. He served as the Chief of the Environmental Restoration Program (ERP) Management Office (PMO) at AFCEC, where he managed the Air Force's $6.2 billion ERP. Additionally, Johnson held positions such as Chief of the Legislative and Regulatory Engagement Division supporting the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH); Head of the Air Force's Environmental Management Program in Europe, including responsibilities as Chief and Lead Negotiator for Real Estate Actions in Europe; Deputy Chief of the Operations Support Division at the Air Force Center for Engineering and the environment; and Major Command project manager overseeing engineering and construction activities for new military construction. His extensive background also includes roles as an Environmental Restoration Program Manager, Senior Project Engineer, and Deputy Base Civil Engineer for vital Air Force installations.
